Storming North America : Mississipi, Alabama & Georgia

Mississippi, Alabama and Georgie, here we go !

I wish you all a very happy new year. Mine will not be worse, finally I hope, than 2019. We have 3 states to visit this week, let’s the journey begins!

Mississippi is not just a river, it has also given the name to a state that is nicknamed « the magnolia state ». The capital is Jackson, which is also the main city. It exploits many of its natural resources such as corn, sugar cane, soybeans and wheat. There are also some important oil deposits. Mississippi is the third largest cotton producer in the country.

Elvis Presley

We will still talk about it! As much as you can visit his home that saw him die in Tennessee, as much as you can see the one that saw him born. That is to say, a vulgar 2 rooms located in Tupelo (yes, there is a difference in size).

Grammy Museum Mississippi

Considered as the cradle of American music, you will explore in this museum, located in Cleveland, an interactivity between past, present and future.

Tishomingo state park

It had been a while since we had set foot in a park. Here, climbing, canoeing, hiking and fishing are at the rendezvous.

Natchez Trace Parkway

It is a 715-kilometer long historic scenic drive from Natchez to Nashville.

« The heart of Dixie », the « yellowhammer state », « the cotton plantation state » or « the cotton state » (the state of the cotton plant); the state of the cotton) are so many nicknames given to this state. The capital is Montgomery and the largest cities are Birmingham and Mobile. It can average between -1 ° C and 16 ° C for a month of January depending on where one is in the state. This one is full of history.

Barber Vintage Motorsports Park & Museum

If you are a fan of 2 and 4 wheels, I suggest you stop there. More than 1200 old and modern motorcycles and racing cars are waiting for you. The oldest ones date back to 1904. On the outside is the race track that hosts the Indy Grand Prix and motorcycle races.

Welcome to Coke Country and CNN. This is where you will find the largest collection related to Coca Cola’s history at the World of Coca-Cola.

Browse the cobblestone streets of the city’s historic district.
There are more than 45 cultural sites to visit. I quote one at random: the Mercer-Williams House which is a pre-war home that can be visited.
Savannah is reputed to be the most haunted city in the USA. Ghost lovers, satisfy your curiosity and your thirst for thrills!

I hope you enjoyed this trip. Next week we will visit only one state: Florida.
